Vino la Festivalul Voluntarilor pentru a vedea premierea celor mai activi voluntari ai anului 2011

Festivalul Voluntarilor aflat la cea de a IX-a ediţie vă invită duminică, 4 decembrie ora 12:00, în incinta Teatrului Naţional de Operă şi Balet, să celebrăm premierea celor mai buni voluntari ai anului. Evenimentul este organizat cu prilejul Zilei Internaţionale a Voluntarilor şi vine să promoveze activităţile de voluntariat.

La eveniment vor participa: Preşedintele Parlamentului, Marian Lupu, Ministrul Tineretului şi Sportului, Ion Cebanu, reprezentanţii misiunilor diplomatice şi ai societăţii civile.

Ceremonia de premiere se va finaliza cu un concert al formaţiei Catharsis şi interpreţilor Adrian Ursu, Cristofor Aldea Teodorovici, Olia Tira, Pavel Parfeni, Serj Cuzencoff, Cindy Wanda, Laurenţiu Popescu, etc.

Evenimentul este organizat de către Serviciu pentru Pace şi alte ONG-uri din Coaliţia pentru promovarea legii şi activităţilor de voluntariat, Asociaţia „Prietenii Copiilor”, Direcţia Generală Educaţie, Tineret şi Sport a Municipiului Chişinău cu suportul financiar al Ministerului Tineretului şi Sportului Republicii Moldova, avîndu-i ca cofinanţatori pe Agenţia SUA pentru Dezvoltare Internaţională (USAID), FHI 360 .

The European Year of Volunteering 2011-Tour opens in Valletta

The Last Tour stop of the European Year of Volunteering 2011 was inaugurated yesterday in La Valletta. The Maltese Tour stop is taking place in a tent located in the very centric and busy bus station and will have its doors open to the public until the 5th December offering a very busy agenda of debates, testimonies, cultural and entertainment activities, games, film projections and many other activities related to different volunteering areas.

At the opening, the Chairperson of the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector Mr Robert Farrugia, stated ‘that although this event brings to an end this year dedicated to volunteers it also marks the beginning of a responsibility put upon us for the coming years, to continue spreading the message that volunteering makes a difference.” Two other speeches were delivered by the Hon. Dr. Stephen Spiteri, Parliamentary Assistant in the Ministry of Education, Employment and the Family, who stressed the importance of volunteering in Maltese society at a community level.  Mr. Angelo Chetcuti, from the European Representation in Malta mentioned in his speech the commitment of the EU to support volunteering dedicating this year to the sector as well as the coming year to active ageing. 

Qalb tad-deheb award (Heart of Gold award) was part of the opening ceremony.  This award is given every year to a young person under 18 years who has demonstrated an extraordinary effort in the field of volunteering. This year the winner is Andre Abela, a young boy who decided to give support to his classmate with leukemia.

 The ceremony was closed by Father Gino Gauchi who wished a great success to the event and blessed the tent. The Armed Forces of Malta Band played through the La Valletta streets towards the tent and attracted the attention of the passersby. After the inaugural ceremony they offered a wonderful concert in the tent together with the soprano Rossabelle Bianchi.
